ENERGY, the Hidden Strategic Asset - by Valerie Nishi

It might seem strange for a consulting firm to offer suggestions on how to develop management and leadership abilities in organizations and spend nothing …or at least very little. COMO AGUA PARA LIDERAZGO - "Like Water for Leadership" - by Tim McGrady
I have lived and worked in Mexico on and off for the last 20 years of my life. I initially went there in my twenties in search of adventure and sun. As a professional guide, I lead expeditions in the mountains and on the oceans of southern Mexico and the Baja Peninsula. Tim McGrady will be presenting at the 2010 BCHRMA Conference, May 7, 2010, Vancouver, - "Metaphors for Living Life and Business on the Pointy End."
The pointy end in the world of rock climbing is the end of the rope that the leader ties into before ascending the rock face and assuming the responsibility of leading his team upwards. The Refinery is bringing a portable rock climbing wall to the 2010 BCHRMA conference and putting participants on the pointy end to explore some important themes in life and business. Teamwork, taking risks, trust and challenging our comfort zone are just some of the themes we'll be exploring as we put 3 teams into a simulated competition scenario using the wall. Tim McGrady, an experienced climber, will facilitate the session with the help of his team from The Refinery Leadership Partners.
Valerie Nishi and Lisa Eckmyn will be presenting at the CMA BC Conference - May 18/19, 2010 - "Leading Others in High Change Environments: Enabling Employees to Adapt and Thrive."
In a time when rapid and ongoing change is inevitable in many organizations, employees often feel overwhelmed and find it difficult to perform at high levels. This interactive workshop will explore ways in which leaders can support individuals and teams to increase their resilience and flexibility in environments of high change. You will learn how to leverage team communication to buffer the potentially overwhelming effects of change; leadership tactics to help you and your employees adapt in times of high ambiguity; and lessons from organizations that have learned to thrive in high change environments.
David Gibbons will be presenting at the CGA Association of BC - June 7, 2010 - "Strategic Decision-Making"
