The Refinery Leadership Partners Inc. announces key changes to their leadership roles in order to facilitate and manage the accelerated growth of the company. The company saw strong growth in 2011, then doubled in size during the 2012 fiscal year. The structural changes are designed to enable this continued growth and cement The Refinery as an innovative and cutting edge international firm. The Refinery is a privately held leadership development firm headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, operating throughout the Americas with offices in Calgary, Toronto, Austin, Mexico City and Santiago. The Refinery partners with clients to design and deliver custom-tailored leadership development programs that touch all levels of an organization.
After leading the organization as President and CEO Barbara Ross-Denroche will be splitting the former function of her role into two separate roles. She will continue her position as President of the company and add the role of Chair of Advisory Board to her title; which she will have primary responsibility for creating and leading. Stepping into the role of CEO will be Dr. Mark Frein, Partner. Previously, Dr. Frein led the US & Latin American operations from the Austin, TX office. Dr. Frein joined The Refinery in May 2007 as Consulting Practice Leader, and subsequently held the position of Managing Director before becoming a partner in 2011.
When asked how his new role would impact the company, Dr. Frein reiterated, “We are continuing to shoot for the moon with our firm. We are going to keep pursuing great clients that want to use leadership development as a means to affect positive changes within their companies. We will keep advancing our experiential methodologies in program design, our depth of content knowledge, and our thought leadership in the realm of leadership development.”
Barbara Ross-Denroche also states that, “Dr. Mark Frein is an extraordinary leader. His commitment, competence and innovative thinking as managing partner, along with managing the launch and development of The Refinery’s USA & Latin America operations, made him the natural choice to step into the role of CEO. I am excited to see him implement some big ideas over the next few years.”
Other leadership transitions announced within the company include a change to separate management of regional functions while also warranting international fluidity throughout the organization by defining two executive centralized roles.
